It looks like PH is not offering $45/night any more. I saw people got $60/night for PH. You have to take the chance if bid on Priceline, which hotel won't be guranteed.

We went for 6 days, 2 days trip to Grand Canyon, stayed in LV for 5 nights, Grand Canyon one night. Total cost around $2500 (air tickets--children paid same fare as adults, hotel, car rental, meals, child care, gamble lost etc).

Thank you for sharing. Did you go with tour to Grand Canyon? If so, how much did it cost? Thanks,

No, we drove to Grand Canyon by ourselves, and stayed there for one night. Very easy drive, less than 5 hours from LV. The speed limit of Hwy 40 in Arizona is 75 mile/hour--so you can drive very fast (we drove 130-140km/hour).

Thanks for the detail. We are planning to stay 6 nights in LV and 1 night in Grand Canyon(like what you did), can we bid a hotel for 6 unconnected days? By the way, how much did you spend on renting the car? Thanks,

Car rental we bid from Priceline as well, full sized car one week for a total of $124(tax incl.). The hotel you can bid for separate days. We did it that way. The chance of get a low price for weekend(Fri & Sat) is very slim. For example, Sun-Thurs, you can get Planet Hollywood for $45+tax/night, but weekend, will be much higher. We choose to stay in Grand Canyon on Saturday night to avoid pay high price in LV. Grand Canyon, we stayed in Holiday Inn Express Grand Canyon, $66+tax--booked directly from holiday inn website--priceline doesn't have any deal in Grand Canyon.

Our credit card covers CDW & LDW, but driving in US seems need to buy liability coverage. We took the chance and didn't buy it. You need to consider your own situation on deciding buy or not.

Hi, Jessie, welcome back! I am glad to hear you enjoyed the trip as well! I won't be able to input Chinese at work, and dare not to try--company is quite strict on internet access. For the upgrade to fountain view roomYou need to ask the staff at check in counter, and tip him or her $20 if he or she upgrade you. What I did is bring out a $20 bill, and ask the check in person, and then give him the money after he confirmed that we will be updated.

Smart! See I don't know that... But tip is a "killer". We gave away tips everywhere: for parking, pick up, housekeeping, lunch, dinner... I didn't know $20 will do such a good use...
