Arajet has dropped the price of their flights from Toronto (YYZ) to San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) down to $208 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic each way.
Arajet charges $65 CAD roundtrip for checked bags and $105 CAD roundtrip for carry-on.
These may sell out pretty quickly, but Arajet updates their prices pretty frequently, and I will keep this blog post updated with available dates.

- This will work out to roughly $276 CAD roundtrip with checked luggage.
WestJet has dropped the price of their October flights from Toronto to Huatulco, Mexico down to $446 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights are nonstop both ways.
While October might be a little early in the season for say, Cancun & the Mayan Riviera, down in Huatulco the rainy season is generally coming to an end.
Last season, WestJet only ended up dropping the price of one of these flights, towards the end of the season. They are normally pretty expensive flights, with the best prices usually found in the $700s or $800s CAD roundtrip.
Huatulco is known for it's 9 bays with beautiful beaches, snorkelling, seafood, as well as being clean, natural, and safe.
Update: A few December dates have dropped into the $400s for the first time ($456 to $478 roundtrip)

WestJet has dropped the price of a few of their December flights from Toronto to Oranjestad, Aruba in the Dutch Caribbean down to $379 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights are nonstop both ways.
Aruba is the 'A' in the ABC Islands located in the very south Caribbean (outside the hurricane belt). Aruba is known for it's white sand beaches, snorkeling, diving, and Dutch architecture.

From those that have been, the general consensus on Antigua and Barbuda seems to be that it has some of the most beautiful beaches they've ever seen.

Curacao is the 'C' in the ABC Islands of the Netherlands Antilles. located in the deep south of the Caribbean outside of the hurricane belt.

Arajet recently announced they are going to start flying from Toronto with a nonstop flight to Santo Domingo (SDQ), Dominican Republic four times a week beginning in late October. This is their first route from Canada.
Arajet is based out of the Dominican Republic with connecting flights to Argentina, Aruba, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, and Saint Maarten.
They have plans to expand their network to about 11 more countries.
One thing that's interesting about Arajet is that they charge quite a bit less for checked bags ($65 CAD roundtrip) than for carry-on ($105 CAD roundtrip).
Arajet occasionally loads some pretty amazing prices to Sao Paulo, Brazil ($386 to $420 CAD roundtrip with a checked bag). Dates are limited. Note that as of this October Canadians require a tourist visa to visit Brazil.
And sometimes they offer some more than decent prices to Colombia (Medellin and Cartagena). $306 to $450 CAD roundtrip with a checked bag.
Lately Arajet has also started offering some cheap flights to the Caribbean in the range of $275 CAD roundtrip with a checked bag.
UPDATE: Arajet is now offering some cheap flights to San Jose, Costa Rica.
