              City officials said the estimated cost of the councillors attending the conference is $20,700. Kelly has two staff with him at the event — his chief of staff Earl Provost and director of communications Isaac Ransom.

              “We should have one person, maybe two people going to FCM — we’re OK with that,” Ford said. “We’re spending 20,000 bucks ... why can’t they hop in the car, drive home?

              “We’re spending 20 grand, you can go around the world for 20 grand.”

              He argued his brother Mayor Rob Ford couldn’t spend $2,000 for such an event without sparking outrage.
