No Response? I can't go back to work without your feedback!!! And, here is what I got from 花儿朵朵向太阳 for your reference.

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛A lot of people showed their interests by sending me emails, 7 confirmed so far (include Bloor's family), we have to hurry up to come up a plan.

I was thinking of taking off on Friday, May 18 and camping out at one of those drive-in campsite alone Hwy60 in the park. Don't know if any of you have problem to sneak out of the office earlier that day. This way we can start paddling next morning instead of being stuck in the holiday traffic on 404.

Talk to the guys in my office, they warned me about that it maybe hard to book a site now, because normally that place is packed during Victoria holiday. Been told that, I rushed to OntarioPark site and took a hard look at current status. Guess what, the only drive-in site that open at May 18 is almost full (Im sure all these people will head to the interior next
day just like we will, compete for wilderness campsite). There are only 3 small less desirable sites left, the size is 6mx6m and close to the high way, but that is not the problem, the real problem is that the website say it can only hold one tent, even though I feel it can do much more than that. Is that meant we have to book three of them? I dont know. There are $9
nonrefundable booking fee, if I book all three of them it will cost us $27 plus tax, what you think?

Another problem is that, if we rent tents from portage store, we will have to get there early before they close, if we arrived at middle of the night we probably will have to sleep in the car. If we prepare our own tents we can get ride of this handy cap. There are total 26 drive-in sites alone hwy 60 and they will be officially opened for the season at May 19 (these
are 90% booked already), before that I think we still can find an accommodation in some of these place. At worst case if we are turned away from there, I know there are some beaches and parks beside hwy 60. Even camping is not allowed out side designated area but we can always do it quickly and quietly under the cover of darkness, and who would like to bother a bunch of unfortunate loser. I myself have a 2-person tent to share with another one, any one of you would like to invest on such thing? Its only cost around $40.

Last but the most important, we have to chose a route and book the permits. Because of the current situation I would like to have your permission to choose a route and go ahead to book interior camping permits. By looking at the map for a week I have two routes in mind. They are start at access point 6 where portage store located (so we dont have to worry about carry the canoe on the rooftop running around, we can even just rent a van to take us all). One goes south across hwy 60 and another head to the north through Canoe Lake and series small lakes and rivers. You can down load the map at www.ontarioparks.com/algpdf.html. Both routs have only two portages and total portage distance is about 600m. To book the permits one has to have a Canoe Routes Map in hand to talk to the operator at another end of the line. Ive down load a 94 version map and will call them tomorrow, but possibly will be asked for a current version, does any one has the time to pick up a copy tomorrow, the address is:

      • Hook me up. Thanks for the hard work. No matter how much it will cost you. I will reimburse you. Just go ahead with your own decision, you will see bunch of follower.
        • Nice to know you will join us. (But unfortnately, we will not be in the same group, hehe). In fact, I did nothing, 花儿朵朵向太阳 did all these planing.
          • he just pretends to be so.
            • 果然是杀手无情...
    • Can people with small kids go? I'm also dreaming of going down the stream.
      • You'd better write an email to ask 花儿朵朵向太阳 (his email is canoetrip2001@yahoo.com). He mentioned in his email that he saw a 5 year old boy before. Anyway, I make up my mind to take my daughter there. (UPDATE THE EMAIL)
