本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛It was not easy to plan a family trip. My daughter J had a part time job in weekends and my wife L was never able to book a vacation. This August, my wife had a first vacation week and my daughter also asked for taking two weekends off so that we could have a 10 days vacation after 10 years landed on Canada.
But I never done enough research or might have done too much to confuse my self where should we go and stay. We had a general direction - Maritime Provinces, and ten days. That's all of my plan.
We started the trip around 10:30, Friday the 7th of August. The reason of starting later? Both my wife and I worked late Thursday, and I had a sore throat the whole week. We started packing in the morning, not knowing whether we should go or stay home to cure my throat. In either way, I felt guilty. But at least we were going according to my plan which was no plan.
Finally, we were on the way to Quebec City where I had booked a hotel room. We stopped many times on the road, breakfast at Tim Horton's, washroom visits, Gas stations, lunch at Tim Horton's and every time we stopped, we would sat down sipping the last drop of coffee or hot chocolate or iced cap... That's the way my ladies wanted and I was too sick to say anything.
We arrived the hotel around 9:00pm and they wanted go out for dinner - poor idea to my pocket. But we went, checking GPS for restaurants near by, and we missed turns or found that a restaurant had disappeared or could not find a parking spot.
AT last, they ended up having dinner at McDonald's. I insisted back to hotel and cook instance noodle for my self. When I set up my camping stove and small pot for cooking, they were amazed that it did work in the tiny washroom of the hotel room. And the noodle smelled much better than McDonald's. They all wanted to share with me.
I gave the first lesson of the trip to my daughter, J. It was more shameful then cooking in a hotel room if one ordered more than he or she could afford. Well, the lesson did not go well, she was complaining about her throat now. Sitting in closed space of the car for 11 hours with me who is sick made her sick. I was regret that we went for the trip.
